Hi.

Jungle Pizza Temple Waterfall Selfies

Jungle Pizza Temple Waterfall Selfies

Still in Luang Prabang. We've extended our stay, and might just stay here the whole time were in Laos. We will be moving on at some point, but it's easy to see how people come here and never leave. It's an incredibly relaxing place. Other places have an energy about them that encourages activity and exploration. Luang Prabang is like "chill man, you've been working too hard. Have a beer." And if beer isn't your thing, partake in one of our incredibly beautiful French influenced coffeeshops and bakeries. You can feel that it wants you to slow down.

It's really easy to get around, either on foot or by bike. Traffic is mellow, and they have sidewalks. Quick note about sidewalks: Lots of places in Asia do not have sidewalks, and if they do, they consist of a random assortment of cobblestones with a sewer grate thrown in at random. I'm beginning to really value a good sidewalk. It's just one of those western luxuries you never think about until you don't have it. Sidewalks = underrated.

Pardon the blog post titles. Just trying to tell it like it is.

They set this huge street market up every single night. It's like a good 1/5 mile long, and they actual sell some cool things. Like Lao Whiskey with snakes and scorpions mixed in. And all the elephant based crafty souvenirs you could ever want.

On our way to a "Secret Pizza" pop up restaurant that the owner of our Guesthouse recommended. A few other couples from the guesthouse decided to join us and we all hopped into the back of this tuk tuk and bumped our way through the city and up a hill to an Italian expat's villa. The Italian married a Lao girl and was kind enough to give back to the locals in the form of pretty darn good wood fired pizza. Pretty much the last thing we were expecting to eat here.

They have some nice waterfalls here. Oregonians would lose their shit. Jazmyne not so much.

We had some really good food at a food shack at the bottom of the waterfall. We might have enjoyed it more than the actual waterfall. Her two pre-teen boys acted as waiters. It was adorable.

The jungle is very lush. Not pictured are the scorpion and dinner plate sized spider I saw. You can't see them, but they are out there, just waiting for the right time to make their move...
