Krabi and Ao Nang Thailand
Goodbye Singapore, hello Thailand! Country number 3, 4 if you count the Taipei airport. Thailand already seems very cool. It's super lush, full of dramatic rocks that shoot up out of the earth, and seems to be a bit less congested than Bali. We are visiting in the off season technically, which seems like the way to do things. Yes, there are clouds and random torrential rainstorms, but it's less crowded and cheaper. You can also find ridiculous hotel deals. We are currently staying in a 4 star resort for $35 a night. The exact same price as our shitty Singapore hostel. It's crazy.
You'll notice from the below photo taken from our balcony that there is a bit of an economic disparity right across the street. Huts made out of sheet metal and plywood etc.. This just seems to be unavoidable as a tourist. Our super cheap steal of a hotel room is still nicer than many of the locals will ever experience. I don't necessarily feel bad about it, it's just constantly apparent that our shoe string budget is really not that shoe string when compared to almost everywhere else in the world. Except Singapore. People seem to be rich as fuck there.
A very pink plant of some variety.
The greenest cup of green tea Jazmyne ever did see.
There are lots of cats in Krabi. This one is guarding the mini mart where we buy beer and snacks. He is stern, but has a kind heart.
Sunset hotel views.
The BEST chicken satay. Two giant skewers for 50 baht. 50 baht = 1.50 USD.
This lady was very sweet and actually smiled.
Mmmmmm meat on a stick.
This Pad Thai was SO tasty. The lady below cooked it for us from her cart. It was light and fresh with a surprising depth of flavor. Also, a giant plate was 1.50 USD. I love food.
More cat friends!
