Portland / Mount Shasta / Petaluma
So, it appears we are back on the road after a brief hiatus! I got a great remote job with my first ever employer, Red Circle Agency. It was an amazing opportunity, and one that given us a lot of options. Thank you internet. With great connectivity, comes great flexibility.
Jazmyne is pursuing her passion of becoming an artist, and starting an online shop. All is good.
Neither of us were really feeling the Seattle grind. The traffic made us anxious and depressed, and the city, if we had chosen to stay, would have made us poor. I just don't think I can live in a city where pad thai costs $15. Let's not even talk about the rent. It's a stupid conversation.
Traveling in Asia for 4 months also had a lot to do with our current life trajectory. Instead of satisfying the travel itch, it made it much worse. To put it bluntly, not traveling and constantly seeing new things, is boring. And now we don't have to lead that life, so were not. Unlike Asia, this time around we have a truck, so we can take a lot more stuff. Like a 27inch desktop computer. More than 3 shirts. A full size french press. Instead of a small backpack, it's more of a bright red tiny house than can do freeway speeds, and drive off-road.
Anyways, below you will see some of what we saw on the first leg of the west coast section of the indefinite road trip.
Fun things you find on backcountry roads.
Quick, do something interesting!
Classic Portland lighting.
On the way from Portland to Mount Shasta.
I'm trying to use the truck for actual truck things.
We stayed with a wonderful family friend named Joy. She and her husband Kirk have an amazing sanctuary of a house. It was a godsend. The perfect setting for a busy couple of work days.
On the way to Petaluma to hang out with my dad for a few days.
Yay, beer!
Super fabulous mermaids.
