Hello Hanoi
Hanoi is pretty dreamy. Yes yes there are a shitload of motorbikes and no traffic laws, but I'm pretty used to that now. It's nice, because now I perceive Hanoi as relaxing. Its full of coffeeshops, eclectic little stores, delicious Vietnamese restaurants and fun plants. AND it's also kinda cold here! I mean, mid 60s is not exactly cold in the traditional winter sense, but it feel amazing after the last 3 months of enduring weather that appeared hell bent on melting human based lifeforms. There's also Christmas decorations up all over the place making it feel just a few degrees more wintery than it actually is.
Old and new Hanoi.
This is what a giant bowl of steaming chickens looks like.
Vietnam is truly embracing the craft brew scene, and embracing it with some serious skill. This Lemongrass and Ginger cider felt both familiar and exotic. Brewers seem to be starting off by emulating more traditional American craft brew standards like an IPA, then getting funky with local ingredients. Dragonfruit Gose, Passionfruit Wheat Ale, etc etc...
Ya know, sometimes you just don't want to eat Pho.
This is our favorite brewery.
Jazmyne agrees.
My current face looking at my "just landed in Bali face." Who is that guy...
Dear god... please make it stop.
This is some aggressive sculpture.
This is some excellent creative signage.
Hanoi has some nice spots of water inside the city. Little lakes, big lakes. It's pleasant. It really helps to alleviate some of the pressure brought on by the incredible human and architectural density.
Omnomnom. Lots of cute dogs roaming around.
Whoa... ummm, theres something on your face. Are you ok?!
