Sayonara Saigon
So, we are getting near the end of this SE Asian adventure. Only 2 weeks to go. Feels good, and weird, and bittersweet, and lots of other rotating emotions. Mainly, I am going to try to enjoy every bowl of weird street food and exotic looking shop I can to the fullest before diving headfirst back into the comforts of home. So many comforts... like grocery stores. Omg, grocery stores, I miss you so much. I never knew what I had until I left. On the other hand, America has all those pesky traffic laws, not sure how I will adjust to those. I better get a good job so I can afford the inevitable traffic tickets I will be collecting.
Anyways, we left Saigon yesterday, and now reside in Hanoi. Cab was cheap, flight was easy, had an airport pickup, all good.
I imagine this is what the gate to hell looks like. It's funny, Frozen is still BIG out here. There is a 50% chance any small child wearing a backpack has Elsa on it. Disney truly is one of America's greatest exports.
Teeheehee... my brain pronounces this one funny.
Anyone want a stuffed dancing alligator with a giant pearl in it's chompers? Send me a message, I think I can hook you up.
This lady made me food. I like her.
Love me some vermicelli.
Motorbike dudes approve.
Air pollution makes for lovely cloudbursts.
Progress.
Sometimes I "accidentally" cross the street a bit dangerously just so I can capture these beautiful moments.
Thats right kids.
We found this cool rooftop bar. The view hopefully will give you a sense of how immense Saigon is. Buildings packed together like sardines as far as the eye can see.
I'm such a sucker for graffiti.
Just love this backpack.
