Yesterday I took a motorbike up into Bokor National Park. It was very beautiful, and a bit weird. The drive is stunning and super fun. Jazmyne stayed in Kampot to read and drink coffee, so I was free to rip around the perfectly paved roads like my own personal race course. I need a motorcycle in my life.
The views from the top of Bokor Mountain were amazing. It was like looking at the ground from an airplane. The pictures don't really give you an accurate sense of how high it was, or the intense winds and clouds sweeping off the ridge. It was dramatic.
Yet another giant kitschy Buddha statue.
This giant monstrosity is situated way up in the National Park. No one stays there, yet it is open. I feel like it is the closest I will ever get to visiting North Korea. It made absolutely no sense.
Another completely bizarro nonsensical thing was this old Catholic church located way the hell up on this ridge. Why? Who would go to church here? There is literally nothing around it for an hour in any direction.
Durian roundabout. Thankfully it didn't smell like durian.
Beautiful sunsets out here.
See ya later Cambodia, it's been lovely. I was constantly challenged and surprised. You definitely have some issues (Sihanoukville, what a shithole) but overall you are a beautiful country.
